Longtime RAND supporters Ann and Ken Horn, who each spent more than four decades working at RAND, have made a $1.7 million planned gift to the RAND President’s Fund. The gift will help RAND address critical needs and prepare for future demands.

The Horns, who met and married while at RAND, are part of the RAND Legacy Society—a group of donors who have included RAND in their estate plans.

“With the help of unrestricted gifts from supporters like Ann and Ken Horn, RAND is better positioned to act on fast-breaking priorities,” said Brandon Baker, vice president, Development. “We are grateful for their generosity and their trust in RAND to help solve the most complex policy challenges.”

Ken held several research and management positions at RAND, leading teams in RAND Arroyo Center, RAND Project AIR FORCE, and the RAND National Security Research Division. He was also a head of the Engineering and Applied Sciences Department. Ann worked in a variety of administrative positions, including assisting with the archives and working with fellow RAND alumni Gene Gritton, Charles Wolf, Jr., and Albert Wohlstetter.
